About Us
The aim of Ethnomousikologion is to support, through publication, research in the field of Folklore, by bringing together specialists from several subfields. Taking into account the syncretic nature of folklore, the journal strives to create a relevant platform for research by specialists in areas such as: Ethnomusicology, Ethnography, Ethnology, Ethnocoreology, Ethnospectacology, Organology (old instruments), etc. At the same time, the journal will facilitate the access of specialists in the above-mentioned fields to the latest research, its content thus becoming a resource for the educational field.
The journal Ethnomousikologion is edited by the Ethnomusicology Research Centre of the National Academy of Music "Gheorghe Dima" within the MediaMusica Publishing House of the same institution. It is published bi-annually, bilingually, in Romanian and English.
Established in 2022, the journal uses the double-blind peer-review system to ensure a high academic level of publication of the materials received, in accordance with the mission of the Ethnomusicology Research Centre of the National Academy of Music "Gheorghe Dima".
"The appearance of the Ethnomousikologion Journal in 2022 is the result of the structured implementation and concretization of the research work in the field of folklore carried out for a long time within the National Academy of Music "Gheorghe Dima". The experience of the teaching staff involved in the organizing team certifies its high level according to current scientific standards. The journal offers a generous framework to authors and readers through the variety of subfields and bilingual Romanian-English editing, offering openness to collaboration with interested institutions in the country and abroad, and, consequently, promoting the principle of "unity in diversity". Going beyond the purely scientific motivation and role of the journal, we believe that through a good mutual knowledge of the traditional cultural imprint, we can achieve respect, understanding, friendship and peace."
